Starring at the ceiling, struggling to keep my eyes open. I can't help but wonder what actually the saying 冬大過年 'dong da guo nian' means. Is that because the people of past generations placed more importance on Winter Solstice than on New Years? or....... Without second-guessing, i jumped out of bed, got dressed, washed up, headed the kitchen.
Everything seemed to work out well in part because we've it all planned out. Took the doughs (glutinous rice flour) out from fridge, pinched off pieces of the dough and rolled it into round balls, dropped the balls into boiling water, cooked them until they floated, placed them into the clear sweet soup. Simple right (having hyperhidrosis doesn't interfere my activities today because my palms didn't sweat at all throughout the morning hours unpredictably! :D )
Eating tang yuan also a reminder that we are now one year older, should behave better in the coming year :D
Flashback of 2007's....
Cultural ignorance is shameful. As a Chinese, if you see or hear or smell or sense another Chinese pronouncing "Who is dong zhi" or "Where is dong zhi", just give him a slap without mercy.
Happy Dong Zhi :D

Stop yelling when you know nothing
Sharing is a common practice among us siblings. We share food, books, room, bags, sneakers, clothes, computer, ideas, jokes, opinions, experiences.......... just everything!
Recently our wardrobe is quite untidy that when you open it you may say "wow" to yourself. Of course, we have cardboard box to make our own space and borderlines. Less than 15 minutes, mine is tidied up. It makes no differences anyway, still messy because her clothes are just haphazardly lie on the closet floor. I took out all of her clothes out of the closet, placed them on the bed, refolded each and every piece of the clothing, separated the clothes in piles: 1 for jeans, 1 for short pants, 2 for tank tops, 1 for skirts, 1 for dresses, 1 for scafts......, wiped the closet, *sneezing n coughing like crazy with runny nose and watery eyes because i have dust mite allergy*, replaced the clothes back into the closet, not just neat, but neat and easy-to-reach. As for some stuffs which i have no idea with it, i leave it a small pile on floor; as for the fashion accessories like caps and handbags, i took those which look dusty to the bathroom and hand-washed it. Yeah the closet now looks more tidy and organized, from stuffed to orderly. *give myself a kiss*
It's around 11 o'clock and she's back. She started displaying bad temper when seeing her stuff on the floor and i was the target of that anger. Her scolding really made my blood boil. I wanted to be defensive, but returning anger with more anger will only aggravate her and make the situation worse i know. Calm chen wei calm, u dun wanna argue like an idiot don't u? *swallowed pride, very very bitter pride* >_< I spent more than 2 hours cleaning, sneezed like a train wreck, and this is what i deserved!! Eeeek!!! She got my back up!!!!!!!

Daddy cool
It's one of those day i helped my dad to look after his shop. To spend time more wisely, i brought along the past years papers and started doing. I had my lil sis sitting next to me playing with her beloved sudoku while me myself was busy punching into my calculator.
The jobs of helping include serving customers, asking them if they are looking for a particular item, running the bulb/fluorescent tube test before selling, checking to see if the supplier is bringing the correct item ordered, handling customers service calls, receiving TV sets to be repaired, and of course taking down customers contact numbers. (i'm just a part-time helper)
Oops nearly forget to mention, my dad has been a TV repairer(technician) since 1974, by now he has full of experience. He understands electronics components very well, he's superb in troubleshooting and repairing TV, he has high expertise in resurrecting TV from death. For those who came before, they should probably know how the TVs ranging from big to small queueing like patients for diagnosis and treatment. Dad repairs other types of electrical equipment as well, like audio equipment, iron, rice cooker, monitor......etc. He hires only one staff--- my mom (100% loyal + trustworthy! :D )
Statement as we know, men are scared of their loss of freedom. They need companionship and friendship with other man. Dad practices common habit like the other men do- yum cha. He meets his friends regularly to discuss tv problems and solutions (most of the time his friends call him for answer when they face problems in TV repair :P) He has schematics diagram in a stack. I flipped through it the other day, n i found that it was all greek to me, electronic engineering is just not my cup of tea.
Dad is a teacher by both word and example. Along these 18 well-living-years, I only have to look at him to understand the true meaning of perseverance. He doesn't stop when the situation gets tough; he constantly struggles to keep on with his mission. Definitely, we, human battle from the day we are born and fight to survive. From a newborn helpless babe to a grown, independent person. This is all about the will to persevere in the faces of odds :)
Have you ever thought of how would it be like to have your parent(s) as a technician? When your TV suddenly shows fine line and the image comes and goes, help is 24/7 ready; When your mobile phone/mp4/earphone/wall fan/watch/table lamp/DVD player faces problem, you can get it fixed within 24 hours for free. So next day when your TV turns off by itself, bring it here, i'll ask dad to offer a 'friendly-discount' :D
Talking about customers. Some are nice but some are just horrible and need slapping. Let's take this scenario, assuming that a customer sent his TV here and claimed that he wanted it back fast. To make no disappointment, dad worked overnight to 'heal' the TV. The next morning...
Dad:"Hello Mr XXX, ur TV is ok already, u can come take it back anytime."
Customer:"Oh so fast?! ok ok i'll be there this evening."
The customer didn't show up that evening, mom called him again...
Customer:"oh yaya ok i'll be there tomorrow afternoon."
The days turned into weeks and the weeks into months. Still the customer didn't turn up. Then one day....
Customer:"Ello Mr Lee.... i've bought a new one and u can just sell my TV..."
wad the =.= eh uncle, if you dun wan ur TV already tell la, y kept on making empty promises. Look at the moral standard, this city is really going to the dogs. And i'm angry with these type of customer.
There was once dad n mom were away, an aunty came and bought 2 40W philips superlux bulb. After testing the bulbs....
Me:"ok aunty ur total comes to 4.60 ringgit"
Aunty:"cheaper cannot ar? i know ur mom very well one...."
Me:"aunty u're buying 2, not 20, u still want to screw ur price down ar?!" (lol of course i din say that)
- tried to squeeze out a smile instead, "sorry aunty i'm not the boss here"
Aunty:"ur dad knows me wan......4.20 la...cannot ar"
-tried to chill like heard nothing.....looked around the shop and display cases while she was searching for her purse.
- continued smiling, took the RM10 note gently (she was still mumbling), handed her 1 rm5 note and 2 20sen sylings.
Me:"Thank you aunty" *yeay yeay she's leaving!
Got la there's many types of customers: stingy, easily impatient, conceited, cannot be depended upon trustworthy, inconsiderate, likes to flatter people, overtalkative(so-called 38), proud and showy.............. and the list goes on. Customer can be a real pain in the neck. Maybe the customer isn't always right, but loyal customers are particularly valuable, in order to keep them, we gotta swallow pride sometimes, remains the impression of likable and 'fun to deal with'. Dad is a strong man with good tolerance, that's why today the daughter has tons of patience *cough cough* (humble chen wei humble) haha
Dad sets up his own shop here since 1986 and most of the people living here choose to have their TV repaired by him because he's professional and knowledgeable :D Always, customers called with their TV problem, dad asked them a few questions on the phone and made a suggestion to try before he went there for a service call. Guess what? The suggestion worked and the problem solved most of the time. He informed customers the issue and gave them the cost of repair upfront. Because of his prompt and pleased service, dad is quite well-known here in our residential area, and inevitable, his children are about being concerned too.
Aunty X:"oh go go hai Ah Lee ge yii lui..." (canto)
(Translation: oh that's Mr Lee's 2nd daughter)
Aunty Y:"oo dai go lui lo......bla bla bla..........."
(u know wad i mean)
Well the feeling of being watched is like.... 'don't try to misbehave gul, you can get caught anytime'. That's why his children carry on life with the concept 'neighbour-fearing in whatever they do'.
Dad is a loving husband to my mom, and a GREAT father to us, he is just my superhero. If i could pick any guy to be with for the rest of my life, it would have to be outdoor type, intelligent, humorous, caring................................................ make it short, i want someone like my dad!
Thanks dad, for being my mentor and also my dad.

The last day of 1st semester
I think my periodic emotional downers are almost gone; my concentration is back, and my overall mental acuity has made a big leap forward. Guess what, i've regained a blast of good energy! :D
Today's the last day of 1st semester, the first thing that sprung in everybody's mind was to unwind. We went to MidValley Megamall, watched The Day The Earth Stood Still. Compare to Twilight that we've watched 2 days back, i prefer the former rather than the love story between a vampire with a human. My friends were all saying Twilight was awesome but i think it was just okay, it's boring in fact because nothing happens, and i rate this movie 'so so only'. (no offense kawan-kawan :P) I wanted to focus on the vampire stories and histories instead. My doubt in mind was: Is it trying to be a romantic movie? a horror movie? or an action movie? they're all just mixed together, and nothing is obvious what the message actually is. (again, just as i've told, no offense kawan-kawan :P)
Back to the movie TDTESS, some of the visual effects in the movie were jaw dropping, and i like the “cloud” raced across the country part, it gave me a grave sort of “wow they’re all screwed!” feeling. Another case here, Jacob the lil brat likes calling his stepmother Helen by her first name makes the movie more dramatic and lively. Also, Klaatu never states what actually human are doing that causes so much harm to the planet, it's never made clear in the movie and the audience would probably not care about it because of this. The filmmaker is trying to play safe in this regard instead. Well after all the message-the planet is too valuable a commodity to be wasted by human is quite clear depicted. So human, wake up and smell the coffee!
Movie ended, we started casting our opinion. Surprisingly my bestie, sl prefers Twilight rather than this because 'Twilight was qi gik-er' she claimed. Lol... well, the conclusion i would draw is- Different people makes different perception and perspective :)
It was 5pm++ already, we took photos as we saw how beautifully it's decorated for the coming christmas celebration before going home. Thanks to the 'snow'-blowing machine, we had a nice scenery background for photo shooting, of course a lot of fun playing with the 'dandruff' XD
*Thanks to Julia who uses her 'simple yet quick' way to clear the 'snow' off our head by blowing harshly on our face. Thx jul we 'appreciate' ur kindness, just STOP IT!!

The grief of losing heong beng
Exams finished. Again, i'm back :D Hmm.... If only you're sitting next to me in class, you'll probably know how discontented i am with my performance in the past trial exam, cuz i'm really an expert in making silly mistakes, and i think it's almost incorrigible. *go bang my head against the wall first*
Talking about exams, i never deny they are useless because it tests student's knowledge and understanding of a particular subject and determines whether the person is qualified to enter the next level or not. You don't want a low skilled doctor to carry out a cardiothoracic surgery or an inexperienced aircraft engineer to sign your plan off as safe-to-fly right? But when it comes to scoring, some people are just too possessive with MARKS. I believe most of you have seen, how students prone to cling to their lecturer like leech just to get any 'sympathy marks' even though they know the probability of getting it is only 0.000000000001. Actually i'm quite impressed to see their 'never give up' quality, but c'mon this is trial exam, why not spend more time on thinking how come you're given so many X in your paper.
Days have been busy for me lately, but let me announce- no more exams till January 09. Wohoo!! It's year-end, everybody's started being delighted when holiday season comes. Let's see...... i have my got-to-do list 1/2 filled now, and i'm still thinking for more.
Pulling the rope back to this morning, uh uh. I brought 2 heong beng to class for brunch...
and i dropped 1 -_-''
Now you see, my pathetic heong beng is lying motionlessly. A drop from 0.7++m height causes it to fall and knock its head and suffer a blood clot on its brain, it gets compression fracture on spine. Studies shown it is expected to undergo prolonged unconsciousness...
11 dec, 11:16:56am, I officially declare Mr Heong Beng is no longer alive... (No~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~) *continuously bashing the table*
I actually felt sorry for wasting food, things turned out better only after i started thinking about DESTINY.
I left campus at around 2++pm, i saw this just outside the entrance of my uni...
Needless to say, they were writing saman. I know you're now thinking why am i so kebo to snap this down. Straight to the point, this is a very good lesson for those who practice illegal parking. They had no way to bribe the man since the busy street had all eyes on them. And it was fun to see the victims taking summon obediently like good citizen XP
Right now, i'm still missing my heong beng...... hope it's at peace now......lol
