The annual festival 'See And Why'

Students were sitting for their last paper, they did not chew their end of their pen, they fought with time, played with calculator, checked their answers again again and again, because nobody wanted to give up. 10 minutes past, talk to any of them, you can see him/her smiling throughout the conversation with a neon arrow pointing over their head *I'm exam-free finally! :D* They couldn't stop discussing how smart/careless each of them had gone through it, followed by "hey let's go somewhere..." then *zoooooom* (gone) Well to me, i like going back home, to pamper myself, to relax, to let my hair down, home is (always) my first destination.

Of course, cleaning my work table was my first thing to do that night. Sorted the books by subjects, unstick the memo, rearranged the files and stationeries, removed 2-3 lil pieces of faeces on my draft (thanks to uncle lizard), discarded 2 dead mosquitoes and 1 dead ant (never knew my table is a spot for insects to commit suicide, all died in peace). Yeah the desk with three drawers storage is now clean, tidied and organized :)

So (finally) yesterday, i've got time to really sit down and do my favorite calligraphy. Speaking of calligraphy, i must not miss this chance to thank my Writing Brush for keeping me company along this 18++ years. Everything's started when dad showed and demonstrated how to hold the brush and how to control the pressure to create thick to thin lines. Days of practicing the brushstrokes were like "papa this one nice anot?" (submitted for grading) He used to scan through, and disappoint me by pointing at only 1 word and also the flaws, followed by tons of comment and correction.

my writing brushes

(pasar malam brand brushes are good for painting) introducing here my life partner-paint brushes!

Yea there are many creative ways to arrange the verse so that it works with the overall composition. In short, calligraphy is all about creativeness, originality and fantasy =) When a person had mastered all the basic skill, the person is about to develop his own style. That's why i've been playing around with the fresh, new ways to arrange the verse along these growing years. Never forget to mention the person i greatly admire, the master of calligraphy- 王羲之 (an imperial officer in the Jin dynasty if i'm not mistaken). Well, doing calligraphy is like releasing the long-locked spirit of chinese characters, there's a lot more than you can see.

What's the best brand of writing brush? My personal experience tells 鸡狼毫 . Many beginners opt for cheap brushes/ pasar malam brand thinking they will buy better ones when their skill improves or just for the sake of saving money. Mind you, you can never do a perfect brushstroke by using the good-looking but low-grade brush, it wil
l hinder your efforts and can even discourage you from continuing. For ink, of course it's awesome if you have an ink stick and ink stone- the older the stick gets, the quality of the ink that comes from them tends to be better. Nowadays somehow buying it in liquid form is great for its convenience. Hmm i bet you've seen the bottled ink with orange packaging before, that's the brand i used to stick to *wink* By the way take note and check the trade mark, buy genuine product with label '金' not '全' for better density, colour and quality. Traditionally fancy calligraphy kits........ owh that would be utterly a Yeahh! if i could own it someday. (In fact i'm still finding source of learning the other type of calligraphy script)

bear in mind the trade mark

regenerating self inner peace

Less than 4 hours from now i'll be leaving this city and heading for another KL (dad's hometown kuala lipis, pahang) There, you can really smell the peacefulness of rural living. Wake at the crack of dawn, you see mist not haze; listen to the conversation of surroundings, you hear bird sings not sound of car horns like crazy, walk out your doorstep, your skin catches fresh breeze not dusty wind; look up the night sky, behold the shining flakes not red or green light on the wingtips of aeroplane accompanying the dull and lonely dark atmosphere; lie and keep your eyes open at night, you enjoy the presence of fireflies not blues. These concludes the reason why i like this KL so dearly.

Plus, there's no need to worry about setting alarm because the people over there will do for you. When the sun rise on the other hand you're still curling up in your comfy bed, the loud booming and piercing firework noise *pi-pak!!! pi-pak!!!pak-palak!!! pak-pak-pi-pak!!* suddenly blast out without warning, shocks and wakes you up. It used to continue for some time and you need to cover your poor little eardrum from bursting.

* wahhh it really brings me heart attack for the next few seconds
*Heart beats so fast...... lupp-dup! lupp-dup! lupp-dup!......................................tittttttttttttttttttt (haha nola still lupp-dup!)

After fireworks, they play cny songs freaking loud and beats me why they have to be so loud like showing off their stereo system hahaha and for the rest of the morning you'll have cny songs dung dung chiang roiling through the village. They definitely bring up the atmosphere however :D
I think you should have heard of one cny song which sings "....发了财呀 大家忙又忙 买了汽车又造洋房 家家都好风光....." frankly speaking i particularly like the phrase 买了汽车又造洋房 (Don't ask me why because i have zero idea why i like it so much. Hahaha! lol)

On the subject of cny advertisements, petronas is still tugging on heartstring, producing best ad among the rest, meaningful and touching. 08's ad i like it the most (it was a story about an orphan named tan thiam hock... so on) Felt like crying each time i watched it :( By the way i have some personal comment relating to this year's revive isotonic drink's cny ad. The guy speaks canto, talks like stoopid and i can't even listen to what he's actually saying, making the ad really s*cks, really, he deserves my slapping for the sake of lowering the quality of ad and degrading the company's reputation. (no offence revive, your quality of drinks is good) Well still, thanks to all the cny ad, they make festivals more delightful.

*Since DIGI coverage is adequate for major towns but poor for country side, friends might fail to look for me and i must have missed some of their cny greeting and left them message unreplied. So here, i'm wishing all friends of mine Happy Chinese New Year! Xin Nian Kuai Le! :D Ong mari! Ong mari mari! ONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the way towards relaxation

2 days after tomorrow, 21st jan, marks the end of my first semester exams. This is a good news indeed, but stress makes me smile hardly (stretching my lips and trying to make the side of my lips curve to make it at least look like a smile) Yeah i'm now smiling *finger crossed*

The level of stress and worry finally starts dropping somehow (weee~ sliding down the snow-covered hill) which in return stimulates the secretion of happy hormone serotonin.
But there's still something pestering me... It is actually...... *Smack* man i've made silly mistakes on my Chem paper which would affect the rest of the whole question. Arghhhh *smack smack smack* Well since life is mostly about a give and take balance, i suppose what i give is equal to what i take. Let's just hope for getting high marks in other paper to improve the overall score =)

What can i eat to make me feel better....... running through my food department in my brain....... Banana! (increases ur intake of magnesium, reduces anxiety, helps better sleeping also) Chocolate! (stimulants for happy, content and relaxed) Oranges! Walnuts! bla bla bla......... ya endless. Teeth and jaw muscle get so excited, having enthusiasm wanes, but sorry mate i just don't feel like eating. So this week, the last week's paper is all about counting and stabbing calculator. Again and again, all the best to me and my fellow coursemates.

*I don't watch tv recently, because the screen of innocent blood spilt and people die like they are nothing is really heart breaking :(
God bless Gaza.

A break from revision

Home life and going back uni for exams is everything for now. So far, the dense part of biology paper is over and this is really a stress relief, at least it plays some amazing trick on mental balance. Stress is a normal response to challenge, threat and excitement. Small amount of it can be beneficial, but too much means you'll have trouble thinking and your plug is about to shot. I believe you all have experienced stress before in your life, unless you're a baby, makan tidur main tidur, chi he wan le. For us the non-babies, guess our chi he wan le day would be only the first day of chinese calendar. 1......2........3............13! Not more than 2 weeks till chinese new year! man this is so so great! But serious, i need a psychologist sometimes to really untie some knots in mind.

Last friday i had my second paper, chem practical, basically it's about titration, flame test, mix this and mix that........... Finished task 1. Moved on to the next task, read through the question, "darn why use methyl orange not phenophthaline... the end point must be difficult to determine.." played with the burette tap. Focused, very focused on dipping the solution. Upon completing the 2nd titration "values are not concordant, repeat" Done the third time "hey values are inconsistent......something' seems not right here...". Discarded the product, repeated. "what happen?! this is not the value i want..." Via interpretation through hearing, my fellow coursemates had started doing the 3rd task, stirring and dissolving some salt already. Glanced at the clock, time was running short. "ok make this the last time, take a breathe, do it more carefully, everything will be fine girl" All together i've done 5 times titration, thank god i got the right one finally. 3 out of 4 of the tasks were completed without a hitch, the only time-consuming part was titration, however at the end, i got extra 10 minutes for checking =D Talk about the testing gas part, i got a lil bit afraid handling this because there was once the boiling ammonium bromide splashed out and burnt my hand during practical class, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

So this week i'll be having my 3rd and 4th paper. By the way i've learnt a lesson- bring your jacket along into exam hall. Not again playing warming tricks, having jaw muscle shivering and making your teeth chattered throughout the exams session like last thursday.

writing in cold is not easy

your writings might appear to have extra long 'tail' + messy

15 minutes ago i was reading so diligently and i'm not sure why am i here now. Anyway i was amused by a girl the other day. Let's name her Bosmond (a fan of hk celeb BOSco wong and rayMOND lum) I was midway revising and she came and kacau. I took a glimpse at the rukun negara printed on the back cover of her exercise book and simply spoke "ok tell me the last principle of rukun negara" She paused for a while and spelled "Kesopanan dan kesusilaan!!", cool and confidently! "The second one?" "Kesetiaan kpd raja dan negara!!!!" She pronounced this even more unafraid with high tone. "k the third one now" "Keluhuran KElembagaan!!" I frowned a lil at her remarks, thought that she was kidding or maybe my hearing problem again. "er pardon?" Bosmand looked more hesitated now with her voice slowed down "keluhuran... KElembagaan?.." I managed to ask this before rolling on the floor laughing out loud. "This is the usual way you recite rukun negara every monday at school?" "er..... yes... i think" Not bad, at least she knew something was wrong. My gawd it takes ages for her to realise that she was wrong all the while for the previous 16++ year. I should have sang her the very first phrase of the song Realize by colbie caillat "take time to realize...." Bosmond you're so lucky to have me as a savior to stop you from misleading information on your next generation or next days your bunch of cucu cicit will get an E for their moral attitude. Hahaha! lol

Fun's over, back to serious stuff. Students recite the pledge weekly during a compulsory assembly in such the way so loud, loud like thunder, afterall they recite just for the sake of reciting it. When it comes to meaning and significance of each and every tenet, i'm sure 90% students in the hall will face downwards looking at their clean and shining school shoes, some can't stop brushing their already very neat hair, some get tired standing and started mourning, some even take this golden opportunity to restore sleep! and you can hear a pin drop silence next. Anak-anak harapan negara, berjinak-jinak rosak dimanja. *sigh*

Not to forget, all the best again to myself and my coursemates. Bye

A good kick-start

Playing with the 08's calendar, flipping each page up. If only you know what type of person am i, you should have had the idea sprung to mind how my calender looks like.

A quick review from months at the bottom according to particular themes given by myself. Okae what we have here..........

Dec - study break. It wasn't all studying during the early stage. I chilled out at home, listened to great songs, read good articles, spent time more like taking holidays instead :P Life is wonderful when you're linked to Leisure once a while. Pamper yourself, stuff the entire belgian chocolate into your mouth, melt it at a slow pace, let it slide gently into your oesophagus. (oh sounds too girlish? ok just bite-chew-swallow! then roll and twist your sexy tongue to remove the chocolate stuck to your premolars or molars for the rest of your day :P)

Belgian seashell chocolate

Nov and Oct - busy like a bee. There's red colour writings on top of the month title- 'Drive safe'. Er drive safe?? haha why for only these 2 months??

Sept - start all over again

Aug - twist and flex

Jul - undue depression

Jun - brain utilization

May - play, not play play

April - back to class

March - idle but able

Jan and Feb - themeless (away on vacation -NS)

The calendar contains scribbles, doodles, marks, highlights, ticks and lines all over it besides the days are crossed out after that day is over. Scan through it, it's colourful and eye-catching indeed :D Other than calendar, diary makes interesting reading. Reading diary is like looking at the private psychological files (because it carries tons of secrets XD) Unfortunately my drawer couldn't fit any more books and now i'm thinking where else i could keep them. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

It's 2009 and i believe good things- it's not over! :D
